What's Behind the Name?

Since I was a kid, almost as far back as I can remember, I have been captivated by backyards! My own backyard in Bellmore was a place of adventure and fun all year long. There were a whole world to explore out there! I now live further out on the Island but those thoughts have not changed for this kid at heart! Although my travels have taken me to the other side of the world, my own backyard is the place I would rather be than any other on earth. Israel holds a special place in my heart as does China and the Dominican Republic. But outback there is a wonderland! Some have called it the secret garden. In the picture above are tiger lilies in bloom. 22 years ago there were a few straggly plants. They now number around 100, all of them coming from the original ones! The day lilies are about twice than number. There is a pond and loads of birds. We even had a turtle lay eggs out there once!
