January Thaw

Here we are in what is supposed to be Long Island's coldest month. The average high for January is 39- the average high! We are going to be in the 50's the next two days then Saturday the forecast is for 62. That would qualify for a warm day in April!

In Brooklyn Botanical Gardens the Cherry Trees are in bloom. In my backyard there are signs of spring all over. Its like Punxsutawney Phil saw his shadow on Thanksgiving! The weather man said last night thta we have had 25 straight days with temps 10 degrees or more above normal.

If the forecast holds after I take down the outside Christmas lights on Saturday, I'll head into the backyard and begin my spring clean up!
