Punxsutawney Phil, are you okay?

Has our friend Phil got his months messed up?

Is it possible that the groundhog is all off this year? Will we be golfing on Groundhog's Day next month in the Northeast or picking cherries in Brooklyn or going to the beach? It certainly appears that we might. After all it is New Year's week and the golf courses on Long Island which usually rest for the month are wide awake with all kinds of people. The cherry trees are blossoming and the beaches have an abnormal amount of visitors for the "coldest" month of the year here on the Island. This morning the daffodils were pushing their way through the soil- some up to three inches high. The kids at the nursery school are outside, playing in the playground. The sparrow are building nests in the birdhouses. It is supposed to go up to 62 by Saturday!

Of course this could be the calm before the storm! Then again... where's the sunscreen?
