Larry's Backyard
This blog is built around the theme of my literal backyard but goes beyond the fence and all around the world and into space and eternity which God has placed in the hearts of men.

Atlas Revisited
I've written before of this scene. That time I was behind Atlas, looking into St. Patrick's Cathedral. This time I was inside the church. Whatever the view it is a study in contrast. Outside Atlas has the world on his shoulders, bowed down from the weight of it. Inside are people who are bowing to the LORD and asking Him to take the burdens from them. And He does!
We can be like Atlas, bowed down under the load of the world or we can join the worshippers who leave the church without the heavy burdens they came in with.
Cast all your care on Him for He cares for you!

A Tribute To Peaches White by Moe Mancini
I lost a good friend yesterday. Here we are in the picture to the right. I have known Peaches since I was a puppy. When she came to visit we would always have fun together.
The first time I met her we wrestled for almost two hours while our families watched and laughed at us. Us dogs tend to be very territorial but with Peaches and I, well we loved visiting each other's homes and yards.
I used to steal her food. You know how us puppies are- full of fun. We loved playing tug of war with a rope or a toy. When I heard she was coming down to see me I would wait at the door. When she left I was sad, almost depressed!
To say her family will miss her is an understatement indeed. Peaches, in the words of Lucy, "had manners." She was the kindest sweetest dog I ever knew. She let me be the boss when we played not because I was bigger than her but that is just the way she was. We never got in a fight. Not because I can't fight but I loved Peaches. Everyone did.
Along with the rest of the family I will miss her. She was one of a kind. Good bye my friend.
