More Work This Afternoon

Amidst the blooms of the crocus and buds of the daffodils, the flowering snow drops and the bright sunshine, I am out doing a labor of love in my yard. Springtime brings life back to the garden!

The Day After

Yesterday I got a special treat. I got to spend 4 hours in my back yard doing spring clean up. I got a lot done but there is still a tremendous amount left to do.

The joy of being outside in my yard is beyond description. There is no place I would rather be! Breathing in that cold spring air is invigorating. I slept well last night.

The sense of accomplishment is wonderful. Knowing that I am preparing the place for my grandkids, friends and visitors to enjoy adds purpose.

Then through the night the LORD put His finishing touch by sending the rain. The daffodils have buds, the tulips are up, the daylilies are emerging, the Star of Bethlehem are ready to bloom as are the swamp buttercup, hyacinth, and primrose.

Its a great day after!

Spring Clean Up

Its been going on for several weeks now, spring clean up out back. The compost pile is fired up with new debris, the pond fish are up, the red winged black birds and the finches as well as the robins are all around the yard.

Today, since it is cold, picking up last year's now dead growth is the agenda. I can get lost in my " work" out back. It is a place of refuge and life for me.
