The Garden, A Place To Meet

When He had finished praying, Jesus left with his disciples and crossed the Kidron Valley. On the other side there was a garden, and He and his disciples went into it. Now Judas, who betrayed Him, knew the place, because Jesus had often met there with His disciples.    John 18:1-2

My friend Bob Heneghan, after visiting my backyard, pointed this verse out to me. I had never seen it in  the way he shared. Jesus had gone often to meet with the twelve in the Garden of Gethsemane. It was a place of refuge and solace and prayer for them. This garden was a place where God met with man.

That is what my garden has become. It is a place of beauty, a place of God's creation and nature but it is a place where I and many have come to pray and to share about spiritual things. Life decisions have been made here. Souls have been healed. There is Life back there.

The blooms have begun. The birds are nesting. Toads have come out of their winter hibernation. Seeds are being planted. Come by. The gate is open for you.

That Wonderful Feeling

Each spring I enjoy the experience of digging in the dirt, planting seeds until the sun is almost down. The ground has a chill in it that makes the tips of my fingers tingle a little bit. I love that feeling! Fresh compost now on several beds with Daylilies seeds from last summer crosses in them- approximately 150 Daylily seeds now planted!
